Couples often ask me "What songs should we choose for our wedding ceremony?"
The answer is of course so personal - Do you have special songs already? Do you have a favourite artist or band that you bonded over? Maybe you've never considered the song that was playing on the dancefloor when you first kissed each other!
Have a listen to the lyrics and even have a search through youtube for acoustic covers. Pretty much any song can be stripped back, slowed down and rearranged to convey the perfect vibe for your special day.

A great thing about having live music for your ceremony is that the songs you choose can be tailored and rearranged to suit your needs. The video here - (Amazed) was a quick shot that I recorded while on my break at another gig (hence the iphone quality, and being quiet/outdoors!) so that a couple I had booked could use it as a guide for their rehearsal at the venue to time their entrance. I ended up extending the introduction so that the Bride was revealed at the exact moment that the chorus began.
The cool thing about this, is that the bridesmaids weren't pressured to 'hurry' down the aisle on the day, we left plenty of time to spare so that I could shorten a section if nerves got the best of them, so our gorgeous bride still had her perfect moment!
With live music, there's no awkward fade-outs or songs cut short.
I like to give the couple and their celebrant a moment to BREATHE, take it all in while I finish off the phrase or section of the song once they reach the altar, and using visual communication with the celebrant, this can be a seamless transition from entrance to the celebrant's introduction.
One of my favourite things about having a live musician for your ceremony music, is that the version you get on the day is completely unique to you!
Think about it, it's impossible to recreate a live performance 100%
